Ukraine's security service charges three over clashes near Kyiv military facility
Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) said on November 4 that it had detained and formally notified three people of suspicion over clashes near a National Guard facility in Petropavlivska Borshchahivka, a suburb of Kyiv, on November 2.
According to investigators, one suspect was paid to arrange the removal of a National Guard serviceman from the facility by posing as an emergency medical worker and using a privately owned ambulance. Another person was allegedly recruited to impersonate a paramedic.
The SBU also accused a suspect of spreading misleading information on social media to incite unrest near the facility. Investigators said they had uncovered messages discussing plans for unauthorized protests against Ukrainian service members.
The suspects face allegations of obstructing military activities and unlawfully disclosing information about military deployments or locations during martial law.
The SBU has asked a court to order their pretrial detention. No ruling on those requests was announced in the agency's statement.
If convicted, the suspects could face up to eight years in prison.
The investigation is ongoing.
