Ukrainian athlete Yaroslava Mahuchikh sets world record in high jump

Ukrainian athlete Yaroslava Mahuchikh jumped 2.1 meters high at the Diamond League competition in Paris, which is a new world record among women, reports public broadcaster Suspilne.Sport.

Mahuchikh set a new world record at the Diamond League stage in Paris. The Ukrainian was able to set it after she won the competition — first, in a contest with Australian Nicola Olislagers, Mahuchikh was able to overcome the mark of 2.03 m, and then she jumped another 2.07 and 2.1 meters.

That's how Mahuchikh broke the national and world record. The world record in women's high jump stood for 37 years. The previous best result was set in 1987 by the Bulgarian Stefka Kostadinova, who reached a height of 2.09 meters.
