'Ukraine is not Russia': MPs block rostrum in parliament amid sanctions against Poroshenko

European Solidarity party representatives blocked the rostrum of the Ukrainian parliament and came out with posters demanding an end to political repression, MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak said on Telegram.

First the lawmakers went up to the Rada rostrum with posters "Ukraine is not Russia", "No to dictatorship", "Think about victory, not about elections" , and then they shouted "Shame!" and "No to political repression".

Meanwhile, MP Iryna Herashchenko stated that the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk allegedly fled after being asked whether he supported sanctions against Petro Poroshenko.

She also noted that in Ukraine, "parliamentarism is being destroyed so that the ‘servants’ and the Opposition Platform vote for capitulation."

On February 12, the leader of the European Solidarity party and the fifth President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, confirmed that the National Security and Defense Council had imposed sanctions against him.

He called this decision "unconstitutional" and "politically motivated."
