President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the names of the deputies to the newly appointed Commander—in—Chief of the Armed Forces and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces. Appointment of deputies of Syrskyi and Barhylevych

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced the names of Deputies to Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Anatolii Barhylevych.

The deputy commander-in-chiefs are:

  • Colonel Vadym Sukharevskyi, in charge of unmanned systems and the development of drone use;
  • Colonel Andrii Lebedenko is now Syrskyi's deputy for innovation (technological component of the army and combat systems).

Meanwhile, the new Chief of the General Staff's deputies have been approved:

  • Brigadier General Volodymyr Horbatiuk, in charge of operational work, staff work, planning, and management;
  • Brigadier General Oleksii Shevchenko, in charge of logistics, maximizing the quality of logistics in our army;
  • Brigadier General Mykhailo Drapatyi, who will be responsible for the preparation and quality training of the Ukrainian military.

Strikes in Kharkiv and the Odesa region

On the night of February 10, air defense forces shot down 23 of the 31 Shahed-type attack drones used by the Russian occupiers to attack Ukraine. The main areas of attack were Odesa and Kharkiv regions.

In Kharkiv, the Russians hit an oil depot, causing fuel to spill and setting private homes on fire. The tanker had about 3,800 tons of fuel on its territory. Fifty-seven people were injured in the city. Seven people are known to have died, including prosecutor Olha Putiatina, her husband, and their three children — boys aged 10 and 7, as well as a 10-month-old baby.

Odesa region suffered three waves of drone attacks overnight. Four people have been reported injured, and port infrastructure has been damaged.

Pavliuk was dismissed from the Defense Ministry

The Cabinet of Ministers has dismissed Oleksandr Pavliuk from the post of First Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine. It is noted that this is due to his transfer to another job.

Earlier, the media, citing sources in military circles, wrote that Pavliuk would now take up the post of commander of the Land Forces.

The child returned from occupation after almost two years

A young child has been returned to the government-controlled territory of Ukraine from the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia region.

When the full-scale war started, the girl was staying with her grandparents there. They could not leave immediately, and the parents could not take the child either. The family managed to reunite almost two years later.

Resignation of the President of Hungary

Hungarian President Katalin Novak has resigned. This happened after her decision to pardon a convicted pedophile caused a stir.

On the eve of the Pope's visit in April 2023, Novak pardoned about 20 people, including a convicted pedophile. This was followed by demonstrations in the country, with many demanding her resignation.

Poles unblocked the checkpoint

Today, on February 10, Polish farmers ended their protest in front of the Shehyni-Medica checkpoint. Truck traffic near the checkpoint has already resumed.
