Changes in military registration rules and comforting forecasts for electricity supply: last night's highlights

The government has updated the rules for military registration, power engineers express comforting forecasts about Kyiv's electricity supply, and the Russian Ministry of Defense admitted the death of some of the occupiers as a result of the Armed Forces of Ukraine strike on Makiivka. Here is what you may have missed from the previous night.

Russia's version of the strike on Makiivka

The Ministry of Defense of Russia admitted that 89 Russian servicemen were killed as a result of the strike of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on occupied Makiivka. They admit that among the dead is the deputy regiment commander Lieutenant Colonel Bachurin. According to StratCom, the death toll may be several times higher.

The main reason for the strike in Russia is called “massive use of mobile phones by personnel despite the ban on mobile phones”, which allowed to determine the location of the occupiers. The Russian Ministry of Defense promises to investigate and bring the perpetrators to justice.

Electricity supply in Kyiv

Kyiv is supplied with a lot of electricity, so there is no overload of the power system in the capital. If there are no new attacks, there should be no unscheduled outages, the energy company Yasno says.

They explained that the warm weather and the weekend in production and business made it possible to spend the holidays almost without outages. But now people are returning to work, so power engineers must monitor the amount of electricity used in order not to harm the system.

New rules for military registration

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a new procedure for organizing and maintaining military registration of conscripts, persons liable for military service, and reservists. The changes include stricter control over registration and digitalization of many processes.

Evening attack on Zaporizhzhia

Russian troops attacked the outskirts of Zaporizhzhia with missiles in the evening. One injured person is preliminarily reported. The attack caused a fire at a civilian infrastructure facility and destroyed industrial buildings there. The fire has already been extinguished. Residential buildings located nearby were also damaged.
