In the morning, Ukrainian defenders downed a Russian Su-34 fighter-bomber in the eastern sector. In the afternoon, another one was shot down in the same direction.
“With such losses of combat and special aviation, the Russians should think about stopping their 'air meat assaults' at least for a while. Well, we continue to work,” wrote Mykola Oleshchuk, commander of the Ukrainian Air Force.
New head of the NACP
The Cabinet of Ministers has officially appointed Viktor Pavlushchyk as the new head of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption at its regular meeting. He was a senior detective and head of the detective department at the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine.
All six members of the commission voted in favor of Pavlushchyk's candidacy, recognizing that he has the best professional experience, knowledge and qualities to fulfill the duties of the NAPC head.
Ukrainian Armed Forces withdraw from two villages
Ukrainian troops have withdrawn from the villages of Sieverne and Stepove near Avdiivka in Donetsk region. They are located to the south and north of the recently occupied Lastochkine.
At the same time, in a comment to hromadske, the Tavria Operational and Strategic Group of Troops said that on the morning of February 27, the Defense Forces stabilized the defense line near Tonenke, Orlivka and Berdychi.
Execution of a captured soldier
The death of Ivan Hryhus, a resident of Zaliztsi, Ternopil region, has been confirmed. He was captured in Donetsk region and recently shot by Russians. He was born in 1991.
In early February, a video was posted online showing a Ukrainian soldier of the 79th Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine allegedly captured near Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region. In the video, he identified himself as Ivan Hryhus.
A new coalition for Ukraine
French President Emmanuel Macron said that the allies have agreed to create a ninth coalition to support Ukraine. It is planned to supply medium- and long-range missiles and bombs.

European Parliament's decision on €50 billion for Ukraine
The European Parliament approved a €50 billion aid package for Ukraine — the Ukraine Facility. The program envisages providing Ukraine with these funds over 2024-2027. Now the Council of the European Union must support this decision to make it effective.
Detention of journalist Tkach in Poland
On February 27, Ukrainian journalist Mykhailo Tkach was detained in Poland. According to him, it happened near the Polish border with Belarus, when he and his cameraman were filming a story about the transit of products between Poland and Russia and Belarus.
The journalists were released only after the intervention of the Ukrainian embassy in Poland, said Sevgil Musayeva, editor-in-chief of Ukrainska Pravda. The Poles allegedly deleted some of the footage.

Seizure of Sinevo headquarters building
Sinevo said that the State Bureau of Investigation had seized its headquarters and central laboratory in Kyiv. The company claimed pressure on its business.
The SBI explained that since 2022, it has been conducting a pre-trial investigation into the possible illegal alienation of the integral property complex of a state-owned enterprise by employees of a ministry, the State Property Fund, and a state-owned enterprise. The SBI also emphasized that no obstacles to the provision of medical services to the laboratory “have arisen and are not arising”.
In the end, the Sinevo network of medical laboratories said that it had reached an agreement with the State Bureau of Investigation on the arrest of the building in Kyiv.
Farmers' protest in Warsaw
A large-scale demonstration of farmers took place in the center of Warsaw. The protesters demanded, first of all, to abandon the European Union's “green course” in the agricultural sector and to limit food imports from Ukraine.
The Warsaw City Hall said that the day before, the organizers announced their intention to hold a 10,000-strong gathering, but assured that the march would be peaceful and on foot. According to various estimates, between 10 and 30 thousand people joined the demonstration. Before the demonstration, the protesters set off firecrackers, turned on sirens and lit several flares.
