Detention of Odesa military commissar
The former head of the Odesa Regional Recruitment Center, Yevhen Borysov, suspected of illicit enrichment of 188 million hryvnias, was detained in Kyiv
The State Bureau of Investigation says that the former official tried to escape from the investigation, using elements of secrecy - changing phone numbers, cars, location, etc. The active search lasted for two days.
The State Bureau of Investigation emphasized that it would ask the court to keep the suspect in custody without the possibility of bail, “given the former military commissar's attempts to hide from justice”.
Bridge collapse in Zakarpattia
A transport bridge over the Teresva River on the Mukachevo-Rohatyn highway collapsed in Tiachiv district, Zakarpattia Oblast. One of the sections of the bridge collapsed along with a truck and a car.
According to preliminary data from the State Emergency Service, 5 people were injured, including two children. The victims were hospitalized in Tiachiv district hospital.
The Zakarpatti Regional Council reported that the bridge collapsed, preliminarily, due to rusting of certain structures and, probably, the excessive weight of the truck's container. At the same time, they noted that the details should be established by the relevant commission and investigation.
Drone attack on Moscow
On the morning of July 24, Moscow was attacked by drones. The mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, said that at about 4 a.m., drone strikes were recorded “on two non-residential buildings”. According to him, there was no serious damage or casualties.
The Russian edition of ASTRA writes that one of the drones fell 500 meters from the building of the Russian Ministry of Defense, on Komsomolsky Avenue.
The second drone hit a business center on Likhachev Avenue. Windows were smashed in some buildings and traffic was blocked on two avenues.
