The situation at the front is getting more complicated

In his evening video address, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that the situation at the front is “getting harder”, especially in the “Donetsk sector”.

Defense Minister Rustem Umierov, who visited units in the eastern sector on April 14, said that Russians were focusing on a breakthrough west of Bakhmut.

According to Ukraine's Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi, the Russian military leadership ordered its troops to capture Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region by May 9, the day Russia celebrates the Day of Victory over Nazism in World War II.

A total of 42 combat engagements were registered at the frontline over the last day. Most attacks took place in the Novopavlivske sector.

Re-examination of the limitedly fit

Starting in mid-May, the re-examination of those liable for military service and military personnel who were previously recognized as partially fit will begin.

Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Ivan Havryliuk said that the plan is to increase the “capacity of the teams” working in the territorial center for recruitment and social support, as well as to digitize the entire mobilization campaign process for “greater efficiency and transparency”.

He added that “the goal is to enable every citizen to fulfill their duty to defend their homeland”.

Shelling

On the morning of April 14, Russian occupation forces fired a drone at a truck in the Sumy region, killing one person.

In the afternoon, Russian troops dropped a bomb on the village of Ocheretyne, Donetsk region. One person was reported dead and one wounded.

Four more people were injured in Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk region. In the evening, Russian occupants also tried to attack the Dnipropetrovsk region with a missile. As a result, 12 people were injured in Dnipro and the Liubymivka community.

Iran's strike on Israel

On the night of April 14, Iran fired more than 300 missiles and drones at Israel. The IDF claims to have intercepted 99% of the targets, but some of them managed to bypass Israeli defenses and hit an air base in the south of the country. As a result of the strikes, at least 31 people sought medical care.

Iran called the strikes a response to Israel's “numerous crimes”, including the attack on the Iranian consulate in the Syrian capital Damascus on April 1.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine condemns Iran's attack on Israel and called on the US Congress to approve aid for American allies.

Complaint of the UOC-MP against the transfer of parishes to the OCU

The Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate will appeal to local Orthodox churches, foreign countries, and international human rights organizations allegedly because of violations of the right to freedom of religion. In particular, they complain about the “seizure” of about 1,500 churches.

At its synod, the UOC-MP reiterated that it is an independent and self-governing church that “with its pastoral responsibility covers the borders of the Ukrainian state”.
