Drone attack in Poltava Oblast and destruction of Russians on the southern front: the last night's highlights

On the night of November 1, the Russian occupation forces attacked Poltava Oblast with drones; in Mykolaiv Oblast, Ukrainian aviation attacked the concentration of occupiers' personnel. Here is what you may have missed from the previous night.

Inspection of nuclear facilities

The International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors have begun a mission to inspect two Ukrainian nuclear facilities. This comes amid Russia's allegations that Ukraine is allegedly developing a “dirty bomb”. As noted, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi is to provide his first conclusions on this later this week.

The inspection is carried out after a request from the Ukrainian government in response to Russia's accusations of allegedly manufacturing “dirty bombs” on Ukrainian territory. It was proposed to send experts to peaceful facilities, which Russia describes as places of development of this “bomb”.

Destruction of Russians in the south of the country

On October 31, Ukrainian army aviation attacked the concentration of occupiers' personnel at a stronghold of Russian troops near Snihurivka in Mykolaiv Oblast.

The Operational Command “South” confirmed that the Russian occupation troops lost 21 soldiers, a military vehicle, and a mortar in the south of the country during the day. The rest of the Russian losses are still being investigated.

Assistance in the restoration of energy infrastructure

Governments and companies from 12 countries will assist Ukraine in restoring the energy infrastructure damaged by Russian shelling. The partners will supply the necessary equipment.

In total, this amounts to 954 units of energy equipment. The first batches of aid are already in Ukraine, the rest is expected soon. We continue to work on increasing the number of partners and the volume of support,” said Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.

Attack on Poltava Oblast by drones

On the night of November 1, Russian occupation forces attacked Poltava Oblast with drones. Preliminary, there were no casualties.

The head of the Regional Military Administration Dmytro Lunin first wrote that three drones were shot down in Poltava Oblast, and “several more” were recorded over the region. Later, after the end of the air alert, Lunin noted that four enemy drones fell on civilian facilities.

What did Russia use for the attack on October 31?

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi said that during the massive shelling on October 31, Russia used not only cruise missiles but also guided aircraft and anti-aircraft missiles, as well as drones.

During the day, the occupiers used 55 Kh-101 cruise missiles, one Kh-59 guided aircraft missile, as well as 22 S-300 anti-aircraft missiles, 4 Shahed-136 kamikaze drones, and one Lancet-3 UAV against civilian facilities of Ukraine.

At the same time, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine managed to save most of the facilities targeted by Russians during the massive shelling on October 31.
