Assistance from the Netherlands
The Dutch authorities have announced the first aid package in 2023 worth €274 million. €180 million of this package will be allocated for humanitarian aid, agriculture, and reconstruction work.
€100 million will be used to restore hospitals and the healthcare system, energy supply, housing, and infrastructure.
The rest of the package, €94 million, will be allocated to non-lethal support for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the fight against impunity, and the preservation of cultural heritage.
The tranche from the IMF
On April 3, the state budget of Ukraine received the first tranche of $2.7 billion from the International Monetary Fund.
“Today, Ukraine has received the first tranche under the new IMF program. Thanks to the funds provided, we can continue to maintain economic stability in Ukraine and ensure priority expenditures of the state budget,” commented Minister of Finance Serhii Marchenko.
Release of Ukrainians from Russian captivity
Ukraine has returned 12 more people from captivity: ten servicemen and two civilians. Among them are five seriously wounded.
10 servicemen are soldiers and non-commissioned officers. They were captured in the battles near Bakhmut, Opytne, and Orikhovo-Vasylivka in Donetsk Oblast, as well as Kreminna and Chervonopopivka in Luhansk Oblast.
But the liberated civilians were held hostage by the Russians: they are from the village of Lyptsi in Kharkiv Oblast and Mariupol.
