In Melitopol (Zaporizhzhia Oblast), the occupying authorities are looking for additional freezers and industrial refrigerators to store the bodies of dead Russian service members. The city's meat processing plant, converted into a morgue, can no longer accept the dead Russian service members, reports Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.
Intelligence says that on June 6, the Russian forces arrived at an Aron-M enterprise in Melitopol (370 Lomonosova St.) and inspected refrigerators. The company's management said that occupying forces considered this equipment suitable for conversion into a morgue.
Ukrainian intelligence also reports that the Russian forces are currently actively bringing to Melitopol the bodies of killed Russian service members who died during the fighting in the axis of Polohy - Hulyaipole in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
"These events are connected with the great losses of the Russian forces in personnel. In addition, the long-term storage of the bodies of those killed is connected with the intentions of the Russian leadership to hide the real scale of losses from the Russian electorate," reports Ukrainian intelligence in the statement.
Intelligence believes that the Russian forces are practicing the so-called dosed sending of bodies to Russia, stretching the duration of this process as much as possible.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of the morning of June 9, Russia lost approximately 31,700 of its personnel in a full-scale war against Ukraine, 200 of which over the past day.
Situation in Zaporizhzhia Oblast
Now, part of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast along the Sea of Azov, including Melitopol, Berdiansk, and Enerhodar near which Zaporizhzhia NPP is located, is under Russian control. Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration says Russia temporarily occupies almost 60% of the region's territory. The rest of the region is under constant shelling.
On June 6, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the situation in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast is the most threatening. The Russian forces want to capture the entire region, including the regional center — the city of Zaporizhzhia. Now, Russia started withdrawing its troops from Melitopol and parts of Vasylivka Raion. However, such actions can be rotation.
