The Ministry of Digital Transformation told how Starlink terminals work after SpaceX announced restrictions. Here is what you may have missed from the previous night.
Overnight missile strikes
On the night of February 10, the Russian forces launched a massive attack on Zaporizhzhya and Kharkiv. The occupiers hit critical infrastructure facilities.
In one hour, 17 hits were recorded in Zaporizhzhya, the largest number since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. Information on the damage and victims is being updated.
About 10 explosions were recorded in Kharkiv. There are power outages in some areas.
Explosions were also heard in Dnipro and Vinnytsia.
Zelenskyy's visit to Brussels
After a visit to the United Kingdom and a working meeting in France, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Brussels on February 9 for the European Union summit.
Zelenskyy delivered a speech in the European Parliament and discussed defense support for Ukraine with all EU leaders.
He also met with King Philippe I of Belgium and handed him a fragment of the downed Russian Su-25 attack aircraft.
Meanwhile, a group of Ukrainian soldiers arrived in Belgium as part of a training mission of the European Union. The soldiers will learn how to use underwater drones, which Belgium announced in November.
The work of Starlink
Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov said that there are no problems with the operation of Starlink terminals.
The day before, SpaceX announced that it had restricted the ability of the Ukrainian military to use Starlink satellite internet to control drones in the war zone.
Power outages
The CEO of the energy supply company Yasno, Serhiy Kovalenko, said that power engineers in Kyiv had to resort to blackouts on Thursday, February 9, despite the high limits for that day.
This is due to increased consumption as parts of the grid are not yet able to withstand such a load.
F-16 for Ukraine
Dutch Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren confirmed that her country had received a request from Ukraine for the supply of F-16 fighter jets. According to her, it is not easy to fulfill this request.
Ms. Ollongren emphasized that the Ukrainian military must undergo training before they can use the F-16s. In addition, the United States must authorize the re-export of the aircraft.
