Missile strike completely destroys Trypillia Thermal Power Plant in Kyiv Oblast

On the night of April 11, Russian attacks completely destroyed the Trypillia Thermal Power Plant in Kyiv Oblast, reported Andriy Hota, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Centrenergo, in a comment to Interfax—Ukraine.

The attack caused a large-scale fire in the turbine shop. The enterprise is currently working to contain the fire. All employees who were on shift during the strike are alive.

The mayor of Ukrainka, Kyiv Oblast, Oleksandr Turenko, called on local residents to "close the windows in their homes tightly to avoid breathing harmful combustion products." He later edited the post, leaving only a call to charge devices and stock up on water.

In July 2022, Russian troops occupied their Vuhlehirsk TPP in Donetsk Oblast, and in March 2024, they destroyed Zmiyiv TPP in Kharkiv Oblast, Centrenergo noted. Currently, Centrenergo has lost 100% of its generation.
