Oleksandr Baklykov, mayor of Lebedyn in Sumy Oblast, killed at the front
The mayor of Lebedyn, Sumy Oblast, Oleksandr Baklykov, died in the war, Olena Kireyeva, former deputy mayor of Lebedyn, told local public broadcaster Suspilne. Sumy.
Oleksandr Baklykov joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine in September 2022. He said that "there are no former paratroopers" and that "he knows a lot and will be able to share it with his younger brothers in arms."
Baklykov has been the mayor of Lebedyn since 2015. In 2020, he was re-elected to the post for the second time, but in September of the following year, the court terminated his powers. In May 2022, the court reinstated him as mayor.
