Plane crash in Bryansk Oblast, new Ukraine-Poland rail link: last night's highlights
Russia says a Ukrainian light plane has crashed in Bryansk Oblast, and its pilot has been detained by border guards. A route on the European gauge will be launched between Poland and Ukraine. Here's what you may have missed from the previous night.
Detention of Ukrainian pilot
On April 5, Russia's FSB announced that border guards had detained the pilot of a Ukrainian light aircraft that allegedly crashed in Russia's Bryansk Oblast.
The Russians claim that he was flying towards the Druzhba oil pipeline.
The man in the video says that he has not flown since the beginning of the war, and his task during this flight was to take pictures. He was flying behind another pilot, but landed because of a problem with the propeller. He says he did not know he was on Russian territory because his tablet was out of order.
From Poland to Ukraine on European railroad
The train that will launch the connection between Warsaw and Rava-Ruska with a transfer to Lviv in a few months has started a test trip on the European gauge.
The Ministry of Infrastructure noted that the restored railway checkpoint in Rava-Ruska had not served passengers for more than 20 years.
