According to them, documents are issued at two temporary checkpoints on the Russian-Ukrainian border. One source said that some 1,200 applications for passports in the occupied Donbass have been approved so far. In total, 12,000 residents in so-called Donetsk and Luhansk “people’s republics” applied for Russian passports, RBC’s sources claim.
Earlier, the head of the so-called “DPR” migration service, Vladimir Krasnoshchoka, said that first 34 residents of the self-proclaimed republic had already arrived in Russia to obtain citizenship.

“Today, 34 people are coming... It is planned to deliver citizens to the territory of the Russian Federation on a daily basis according to the lists we are provided with,” Krasnoshchoka told RBC.
30 people from the self-proclaimed “LPR” have also reportedly already received Russian passports.
