Russia blocks UN Security Council resolution

The Russian delegation to the UN Security Council used its right of permanent membership and vetoed the resolution condemning the sham referendums in Ukraine and calling for non-recognition of any changes to Ukraine's borders.

New funding from the World Bank

On September 30, the World Bank announced an additional $530 million to help the Ukrainian government meet urgent needs caused by the Russo-Ukrainian war.

This funding is provided through loan guarantees from the United Kingdom ($500 million) and Denmark ($30 million).

Successes of the Armed Forces in the South

Operational Command "South" reported that Ukrainian rocket and artillery units on the southern front performed 330 fire missions on September 30. They hit logistics centers and field ammunition depots, clusters of Russian forces and equipment, as well as their firing positions.

According to preliminary data, the Russian occupation forces in southern Ukraine suffered the following losses during the day:

  • 10 soldiers;
  • a heavy flamethrower system Solntsepek;
  • multiple rocket launcher system Grad;
  • two self-propelled large-caliber howitzers Msta-S;
  • 3 tanks;
  • 2 infantry fighting vehicles.

In addition, on the evening of September 30, Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed a Russian Ka-52 helicopter known as "Alligator" in Kherson Oblast, worth about $16 million.

Appeal to the International Court of Justice

Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that against the backdrop of Russia's statements about the annexation of Ukrainian territories, Ukraine has appealed to the International Court of Justice.

"After Putin's attempts to annex, Ukraine officially informed the International Court of Justice that this step grossly violates the legally binding order on interim measures issued on March 16. We call on the court to consider the merits of the case as soon as possible," the statement said.

Rocket attacks on the south of Ukraine

On the night of October 1, the Russian occupation forces once again launched a rocket attack on southern Ukraine. Local authorities reported a hit in Mykolaiv, while the command mentioned one in Odesa Oblast.

Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Senkevich wrote at 04:39 a.m. that a rocket hit a residential building in the city. Rescuers arrived at the scene.

Operational Command "South" reported that Russians hit two missiles, probably of the Iskander type in Odesa Oblast. An industrial infrastructure facility was hit, an electrical substation and several buildings around it were damaged.

A fire broke out in one of the private garages, which was quickly extinguished. The OC noted that there were no casualties.
