A strike near the Khmelnytskyi NPP

Overnight on October 25, Russian troops hit the area near the Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant. The explosion damaged windows in the administrative and laboratory buildings.

Due to the damage to the power lines, 1,860 consumers in the towns of Slavuta and Netishyn, Khmelnytskyi Oblast, were cut off from electricity.

New speaker of the US House of Representatives

Congressman Mike Johnson, who had criticized the aid to Ukraine, was elected as the new Speaker of the US House of Representatives.

He also actively supported the former US president Donald Trump and was a key figure in Congress when they tried to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.

Johnson also opposes abortion, same-sex marriage, and the separation of church and state.


The situation near Avdiyivka

Russian troops are forced to regroup near the town of Avdiyivka in Donetsk Oblast due to significant losses inflicted by the Ukrainian Defense Forces on the occupiers over the past week, said Oleksandr Shtupun, spokesman for the Joint Press Center of the Tauride Defense Forces.

According to him, Russians are actively using aviation on the Avdiyivka axis, especially at night, shelling the outskirts of Avdiyivka and the town proper with multiple rocket launchers. Over 50 guided aerial bombs were launched at the outskirts of Avdiyivka in three days.

Reconstruction of high-rise buildings in Zaporizhzhya

It will cost $75,000 to rebuild an apartment in one of the damaged buildings in a residential area of Zaporizhzhya. The city authorities chose the contractor for the reconstruction without a tender, and the company itself is connected to local politicians.

According to the investigation by hromadske "Billion down the drain," 116 million hryvnias ($3.2 million) are being spent on the restoration of two residential buildings in Zaporizhzhya destroyed by Russian missiles by StroyInvest, which is historically linked to Hennadiy Korban.

Impressive feat

A heart-lung transplantation was conducted in Ukraine for the first time. The unique operation was performed in Lviv. It is considered extremely difficult, with only 20-25 such operations performed annually worldwide.

The organs were received by 38-year-old Nina from Kyiv Oblast. She has had a heart defect since birth. Later, it caused her lungs to deteriorate. The woman had been waiting for a transplant for 15 years.

The transplantation lasted 10 hours. The heart and lungs started working on the operating table. Now the patient is in intensive care in a stable condition. She has a difficult recovery ahead of her.

Increasing the number of women's train compartments

Ukrzaliznytsia is scaling up the project of women's compartments in passenger trains. Starting November 15, they will be available in four more trains:
