Shelling of Zaporizhzhia, termination of Kholodov's mandate and suspicion for MP Dubinskyi: August 9 highlights

Shelling of Zaporizhzhia
On the evening of August 9, Russian troops attacked a residential area in Zaporizhzhia. The shelling killed two people and injured nine others.
The missile hit the territory of the church, destroying the church building and damaging nearby shops. The blast wave shattered windows in high-rise buildings.
The head of the Zaporizhzhia regional military administration, Yurii Malashko, said that the Russians fired at the city with "high-precision" weapons.
Changes in the Servant of the People: Kholodov's mandate is terminated, and a new MP takes his place
The Verkhovna Rada has terminated the mandate of Andrii Kholodov, a member of the Servant of the People faction. Earlier, Skhemy journalists found out that Kholodov left Ukraine in January 2023 and has not returned since. He hasn't attended the Verkhovna Rada meetings or voted for six months. The MP reported that he wanted to resign because he had a sick wife and a child and therefore could not attend parliamentary sessions.
Instead, Nataliia Loktionova joined the Servant of the People faction, and she has already taken the oath as a member of the Ukrainian parliament.
Court upholds termination of UOC-MP contract with Kyiv Pechersk Lavra as legal
The Kyiv Commercial Court has recognized the termination of the contract between the monastery of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) and the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra Reserve as legal. The court dismissed in full the claim of the UOC-MP monastery to invalidate the deed to deprive it of the right to use the property.
Back in March, the Ministry of Culture warned the UOC-MP that it had to vacate the buildings on the territory of the Lower Lavra. The agreement of 2013 on the free use of the property was terminated.
Suspicion for MP Dubinskyi
MP Oleksandr Dubinskyi said that on August 8 he was served with a notice of suspicion. Sources in law enforcement confirmed the information.
Law enforcement officers have qualified the criminal proceedings against him under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: Forgery in officePart 1 of Article 366 and Unauthorized actions with information processed in automated systems committed by a person who has the right to access it by prior conspiracy by a group of personsPart 3 of Article 362. However, the MP claims that the case was reclassified under Part 1 of Article 366 - forgery in office.
Earlier, law enforcement officers came to Dubinskyi's house with searches. A week before, one of the founders of the Democratic Ax party, Anton Shvets, said that the MP was on vacation in Barcelona. Dubinskyi himself assured that at the end of June, he received the right to leave Ukraine to accompany his father to a foreign oncology clinic.
Erdogan wants to "expand" the grain deal
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that he wants to resume the Black Sea Grain Agreement on an "expanded scale".
According to him, discussions are ongoing, but the decision depends on whether Western countries "fulfill their promises". However, he did not specify which commitments had been violated.
He made this statement after having a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on August 2. He noted that Turkey had the opportunity to learn about the requirements and expectations of Russia.
Member of the Servant of the People faction Hunko was remanded to custody on suspicion of bribery
The High Anti-Corruption Court has remanded Anatolii Hunko, a member of the Servant of the People faction, in custody with the possibility of bail set at UAH 30 million. Earlier, he was notified of being suspected of taking a bribe.
Hunko will be held in custody until October 7.
According to the investigation, the MP promised the businessman to provide state-owned land plots of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine for cultivation in exchange for money. For his "services", Hunko asked for 221 thousand dollars.
Ex-judge Tandyr, who ran down a National Guard officer, was remanded in custody
The Kyiv Court of Appeal upheld the position of the Kyiv Prosecutor's Office and refused to change the measure of restraint for former judge Oleksii Tandyr, who ran down National Guard officer Vadym Bondarenko at a checkpoint.
It also became known today that Tandyr submitted water and saliva for analysis instead of urine. In this way, he tried to falsify the examination so that it would not prove his state of intoxication at the time of the accident. But he failed because alcohol was found in his saliva.
