Success of the Armed Forces

Ukrainian defenders repelled attacks by Russian troops in the areas of the settlements of Kupiansk, Zaitseve, and Novomykhailivka. Also, the Armed Forces of Ukraine inflicted fire damage on three Russian ammunition depots. This is stated in the summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

During the day, the aviation of the Defense Forces struck ten areas of concentration of Russian manpower and military hardware and two positions of anti-aircraft missile systems. In addition, Ukrainian air defense units destroyed two drones of the occupiers.

Missile troops and artillery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine inflicted fire damage on four control points, two areas of concentration of personnel and military hardware, three anti-aircraft defense positions, artillery positions, as well as three ammunition depots.

8 people were blown up by landmines in Kharkiv Oblast

On September 22, 8 people were blown up by landmines in the de-occupied territory of Chuguiiv Raion of Kharkiv Oblast. This was announced by the regional police.

Among them, were a 67-year-old resident of the village of Hrakove and a 52-year-old resident of the village of Chkalovske, who received explosive injuries. Also, the community police officer found two tractor drivers blown up by landmines in the field. They were taken to the Chuguiiv District Hospital.

In addition, on September 22, near the village of Hrakove, Kharkiv Oblast, two employees of Kharkivoblenergo and an employee of the State Emergency Service were blown up during repair work on a mine: one person died, and two were hospitalized with injuries.

Shelling of Nikopol

At around midnight, the occupying forces shelled Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, with Grad MLRS. A local man died as a result of the attack. This was announced by the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Valentyn Reznichenko.

In total, the Russians fired about 20 shells into the central quarters of Nikopol. In the city, 17 high-rise and private buildings, gas pipelines, and power lines were mutilated. The streets are strewn with craters and fragments of ammunition.

Attack on Zaporizhzhia

On the morning of September 22, the occupying forces shelled Zaporizhzhia. Oleksandr Starukh, the head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, and Anatolii Kurtiev, acting mayor of Zaporizhzhia, told about this.

Infrastructure objects and residential buildings were destroyed. One person died, and five were injured. Six people have already been rescued from the rubble. Another 27 left the building on their own.

The deputy head of the President's Office, Kyrylo Tymoshenko, said that nine missiles hit Zaporizhzhia and its suburbs. The invaders hit the hotel in the central park.

Militants of the "DPR" plan to involve teenagers in the pseudo-referendum

The self-proclaimed "DPR" plans to involve minors in the fake referendum of the Russian Federation on the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk Oblast. This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine, which intercepted the documents of the militants.

According to the Security Service of Ukraine, the occupiers hope to expand the “electoral base” in the pseudo-referendum on joining the Russian Federation by involving local children aged 13 to 17.

At the expense of minor “voters”, the occupiers are trying to artificially compensate for the catastrophic lack of “votes” to legitimize the fake plebiscite. And to strengthen control over “turnout”, minors must be accompanied to “polling stations” by their parents, guardians, or representatives of so-called “orphanages” in the temporarily occupied territory of the region.

IAEA has started negotiations with Ukraine and the Russian Federation regarding the safety zone at the ZNPP

IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi announced the start of negotiations with representatives of Ukraine and Russia regarding the creation of a safety zone at the occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP. Grossi wrote about it on Twitter.

IAEA representatives held separate meetings with the Ukrainian and Russian parties. Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba, Permanent Representative to the United Nations Serhii Kyslytsia, and Ambassador to the USA Oksana Markarova attended the meeting from Ukraine.

Grossi also held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov and the permanent representative of Russia at the UN. The Director General of the IAEA called this meeting “productive and professional”.
