The south of Belarus has been closed to civilian aircraft for another three months

Belarus extended the ban on civil flights in the south of the country until October. The threat of missile strikes on Ukraine from Belarus will remain, reports Belaruski Gayun monitoring group.

The ban was extended from July 8 to October 7 and applies to 
all types of civilian vessels (including drones) at an altitude of 0 to 19,800 meters.

Oleksiy Gromov, Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said that Belarus had handed over the Zyabrovka air base (near Gomel) to full Russian control.

According to Gromov, the Russian forces are now setting up a military base at the airfield: the missile division of the Iskander-M operational-tactical missile complex and the S-400 Triumf division are already stationed there.

For the first time, civil flights were banned over the south of Belarus on February 24. According to Belaruski Gayun monitoring group, at least 689 rockets have been launched from that territory on Ukraine since then.
