Ukrainian intelligence to soon launch third attack on Crimean Bridge, which will "disable it"

Ukraine's Defense Intelligence is planning a second attack on the Kerch (Crimean) Bridge, which connects the annexed Crimea with Russia. This attack is intended to disable the bridge, unnamed representatives of the Ukrainian intelligence agency said in an interview with the Guardian.

According to them, the destruction of the bridge is "inevitable" and the head of the DIU, Kyrylo Budanov, already has "most of the means to carry out this goal." The intelligence service also says that the destruction of the bridge is part of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's plan to "minimize" Russia's naval presence in the Black Sea.

Meanwhile, The Guardian points out that Russia has taken extensive measures to protect the bridge, beefing up its air defense and deploying a "target barge" as a missile decoy.

Earlier, spymaster Budanov had already announced new strikes on Russian military facilities in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

"New surprises await the enemies, and I would not recommend civilians to use the so-called 'Crimean' bridge," Budanov warned.

Attacks on the Crimean Bridge

The Crimean Bridge has been targeted several times by Ukrainian special forces. In October 2022, after an explosion on the bridge, railroad cars with fuel caught fire, and two spans of the road part of the bridge partially collapsed.

After the explosions on the bridge on the night of July 17, one span of the bridge was destroyed and another was damaged. Russia also reported deaths and injuries as a result of the explosion. Ukraine was accused of the attacks.
