On June 19, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supported bills (7273-d and 7459) that significantly limit the circulation of music and books from Russia in Ukraine.

The first bill bans the public performance of music created by artists who were Russian citizens after 1991. Exceptions may be former Russian citizens of Russia who are or at the time of death were citizens of Ukraine and did not have Russian citizenship.
The deputies decided to envisage another exception by creating a list of Russian singers who condemned the aggression against Ukraine. The inclusion and exclusion of people from this list will be conducted in agreement with the Security Service of Ukraine.

In addition, the bill provides for a 40 percent quota for songs in Ukrainian on the radio, as well as a quota of 75% for programs in the Ukrainian language.
The second bill bans the import and distribution in Ukraine of printing products from Russia, Belarus, and the occupied territories of Ukraine (except for products manufactured before the occupation).
Ukraine also bans books that include works that have been written by Russian citizens in any period since 1991. Exceptions are only former Russian citizens who are or at the time of death were citizens of Ukraine and did not have Russian citizenship. There are also some exceptions for products that are not imported for distribution.
