A shah instead of a kopiyka
The National Bank of Ukraine initiated the renaming of the kopiyka coin to shah. This should contribute to de-Russification and restoration of historical justice.
After researching the history of Ukrainian money circulation, experts came to the conclusion that the name "kopiyka" is a symbol of the Moscow occupation, and "shah" will be able to return Ukrainian coins to their own identity.
The National Bank also emphasizes that the scientific community supports the renaming initiative.
