Ukraine receives $404.5 million from Japan and World Bank for health care

Ukraine has received an additional $404.5 million in financing supported by Japan and the World Bank to strengthen its health care system, Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi announced on October 28.

The funds have already been transferred to Ukraine's state budget under the THRIVE project.

Of the total, $304.5 million was provided with financial support from the Japanese government, while another $100 million came as a loan from the International Development Association, part of the World Bank Group.

THRIVE aims to improve the effectiveness of Ukraine's Medical Guarantees Program, which finances health care services for patients, and expand the quality and accessibility of medical care.

According to Koretskyi, Ukraine has now received a total of $701.7 million through the project.

He thanked Japan and the World Bank for their continued support of Ukraine's health care system.
