Ukraine receives €4.36 billion from EU, including €660 million for defense

Ukraine has received an additional €4.36 billion from the European Union under the Ukraine Support Loan program, Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi announced on November 5.

The funding includes €3.7 billion in macro-financial assistance and €660 million allocated to defense.

According to Koretskyi, the money will cover priority government budget expenditures and urgent needs of Ukraine's Defense Forces.

"Amid constant Russian attacks, this support is critically important for strengthening our defense capabilities and maintaining the country's financial stability," the prime minister said.

Koretskyi thanked European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Commissioners Valdis Dombrovskis and Andrius Kubilius, and EU member states for their continued support.

He added that Ukraine was working with its European partners to ensure the remaining planned funding arrives on time and in full.

The announcement concerns funds already received by Ukraine, rather than a new pledge of future assistance.
