Attack of Ukrainian drones on Russian refinery and airfield, dismissal of head of Brovary administration: April 27 highlights
Ukrainian special services conducted an operation, striking oil refineries and an airfield in Russia with drones. The head of the Brovary District State Administration was dismissed from his post after he caused a road accident under the influence. We have collected the main news for April 27.
Attack on refinery and airfield in Russia
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced that 66 Ukrainian drones were allegedly destroyed over the territory of Krasnodar Krai at night.
The Slaviansk-EKO refinery, the bitumen plant, the Ilsky refinery and a number of other objects were hit, according to online reports. A fire broke out at some facilities. The Slaviansk oil refinery partially stopped work after the drone attack.
Also, as a result of the attack, a military airfield in the town of Kushchevsk, Krasnodar Krai, allegedly caught fire.

The case of the former head of the Brovary district administration
The head of the Brovary District State Administration, Volodymyr Maibozhenko, was confined to custody on charges of violating traffic safety rules while intoxicated (Part 2 of Article 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides from 3 to 8 years of imprisonment.
Later, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed Maibozhenko from the post of head of the Brovary District State Administration.
Mass missile attack
Overnight, the Russian military launched a combined attack on Ukraine with 34 missiles of various types. Air defense forces managed to shoot down 21 of them.
Energy facilities in Dnipropetrovsk, Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv oblasts came under attack. DTEK energy company said that four of its thermal power plants were under attack.
In Kharkiv, the Russians hit a hospital in which more than 1,000 people were housed. Missiles hit the ground near the medical facility.
New aid from partners
Belgium has announced that it will hand over missiles for air defense to Ukraine, as well as allocate 200 million euros to participate in the German initiative to strengthen Ukrainian air defenses.
Meanwhile, Australia will provide Ukraine with a new military aid package worth $100 million. Half of these funds will be spent on a large batch of portable anti-aircraft missile systems. $30 million will go to the drone coalition, and the rest will go to other military needs. In addition, Australia will purchase surface-to-air missiles for Ukraine.
