MP Zadorozhnyi is suspected of extorting a bribe

MP Mykola Zadorozhnyi is suspected of demanding a bribe for not obstructing the holding of a tender for the repair of a water pipe in the Okhtyrka district of Sumy Oblast. He allegedly wanted 14% of the funds allocated for the repair of the waterworks, i.e. 3.4 million hryvnias ($82,904). He has already been expelled from the Servant of the People party.

Spain will hand over a new batch of Leopards to Ukraine

The Ministry of Defense of Spain will hand over a new package of military aid to Ukraine. It includes 10 Leopard 2A4 battle tanks, various excavators, and a "significant" number of anti-tank missiles. The cargo is planned to arrive at the Polish port by next weekend.

Orban presented his "peace plan" to EU leaders

Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orbán sent a letter to the leaders of the European Union with his own "peace plan" for the settlement of Russia's war against Ukraine.

The political director of the Prime Minister of Hungary, Balazs Orbán, said that his leader was convinced that Ukraine and Russia were "determined to fight further", so he started negotiations with China and Turkiye.

At the same time, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that after Viktor Orbán's visit to Russia at the meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council, there was a "very serious adult conversation" about the fact that there cannot be a pro-Russian policy in the Alliance.

Zelenskyy reported on the preparations for the second Peace Summit

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the first meeting on working out the outcomes of the Peace Summit will take place at the end of July–the beginning of August, probably in Qatar. By November, a plan should be prepared for holding the second international conference on ending the war in Ukraine.

Survey on negotiations and "draft dogers"

43.9% of Ukrainians believe that the time has come to start peace talks with Russia. However, the majority of respondents do not agree with the conditions put forward by the Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In particular, 83.6% are against Ukraine handing over its four oblasts to the Russian Federation, according to a survey by the Razumkov Center, commissioned by the Dzerkalo Tyzhnia publication.

46% of Ukrainians who took part in a sociological survey believe that there is no shame in being a “draft dodger”. Only 29% hold the opposite opinion.
