Ukrainian ATACMS strike destroys Russian Nebo-M radar station
The Ukrainian military hit the Russian Nebo-M radar station with ATACMS ballistic missiles. The Russian asset is capable of detecting and intercepting air targets. The aggressor state has only ten such radars left, reported the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The military did not specify where and when exactly the destruction of the radar station took place, but added that thanks to this, a favorable "air corridor" will appear for the effective use of long-range Storm Shadow and SCALP-EG cruise missiles.
According to the General Staff, Nebo-M is very difficult to hit, because the radar works in a hidden mode for detection, looking for aerial objects. In total, the Russians now have only 10 working systems of this type, and the price of each of them reaches more than $100 million.
Back in May, a Ukrainian intelligence drone attacked the Russian over-the-horizon radar station Voronezh-M, which was located in the city of Orsk, Orenburg Oblast - 1,800 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.
Later, SBU drones in occupied Crimea also struck the Russian Nebo-SVU radar.
After that, the foreign media wrote about US fears that Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian nuclear early warning systems could "dangerously unsettle" Moscow at a time when the White House is considering whether to allow Ukraine to use Western weapons for attacks on Russia.
