Zelenskyy reveals when North Korean soldiers will go into battle against Ukraine
Ukrainian intelligence believes that as early as October 27-28, the North Korean military will be deployed in combat zones against Ukraine, said President Volodymyr Zelenskyy following a meeting with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi.
According to him, the involvement of the military from the DPRK is "an obvious escalating step by Russia," which wants to continue the war. The president calls for a "principled and strong reaction" from world leaders.
In his opinion, the response to such Russian actions should be "not in the form of closed eyes and confused comments," but in the form of "perceptible pressure on both Moscow and Pyongyang."
North Korean troops fighting against Ukraine
In the evening of October 22, Zelenskyy announced that he had received information about Russia's training of two units from the North Korean military. Perhaps it will be two brigades of 6,000 people each.
Before that, North Korean soldiers were filmed in the military unit of the 127th Motorized Rifle Division of the Russian Federation in the village of Serhiyivka in the Primorsky Krai.
The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Kyrylo Budanov, noted that the first North Korean troops may arrive in Kursk Oblast as early as October 23 to help the Russians in the region. Already on October 24, the DIU confirmed the arrival of the first units of the DPRK in Kursk Oblast.
US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin said that the Americans have evidence that North Korean troops are on Russian soil, but their purpose is still unknown to Washington.
Russian leader Vladimir Putin did not deny the presence of North Korean troops in Russia, referring to the partnership agreement between the Russian Federation and North Korea. According to him, how the countries will implement the clauses of this agreement is "our business."
Against this background, the South Korean media wrote that Seoul may consider transferring "offensive" weapons to Ukraine and even send its personnel to interrogate prisoners from the DPRK.
