Russians shoot civilians in Selydove, for which fighting continues. Prosecutor General's Office starts investigation
Law enforcement officers began an investigation into the shootings of civilians by the Russian troops in the town of Selydove, Donetsk Oblast, reported the Prosecutor General's Office.
A video of Russian soldiers shooting a civilian car in Selydove with automatic weapons was distributed online. There were two people inside the car, one of whom was injured.
The event probably happened on October 24. The Ukrainian military, who arrived at the scene of the shooting of the car, took the civilians away and provided assistance to the wounded.
In addition, law enforcement officers are investigating the shooting of two women, which was reported in the media. The OPG also notes that the bodies of dead civilians are located in the detached housing neighborhood of the town, which was almost unaffected by the hostilities. They could have been killed when that part of the settlement was captured by the Russians.
Investigators are establishing the circumstances of the events and identifying the victims of the invasion forces. The case is being investigated as a violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Battles for Selydove
Vitaliy Milovidov, the press officer of the 15th National Guard Special Forces Brigade "Kara-Dag", which defends Selydove, said on national television that the Russian assaults on the town have been going on for a week.
Active hostilities continue in the direction of the settlement of Vyshneve, south of Selydove. The Russians threw all their forces there to be able to surround Selydove.
