The Verkhovna Rada supported the creation of a jury trial in Ukraine. Bills that provided for it were combined and considered under a shortened procedure.
Until now, the Constitution of Ukraine also provided for the possibility of people's participation in the administration of justice through juries, but the principle of their work was still based on Soviet practice.
In addition, the parliament adopted a draft law, which returned the confiscation of property of corrupt persons in case of a plea deal. Earlier, this norm was canceled by another bill.
Medics will not be transferred to the infantry
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, signed a decree that puts into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on the prohibition of transferring medics to military positions not related to the medical service. At the same time, this will not apply to cases if the doctors themselves desire to do so.
The director of the National Museum of History was accused of not returning from a business trip
MP Solomiya Bobrovska said that the director of the National Museum of History Fedir Androshchuk did not return from a trip abroad, which was supposed to end on September 20.
In response to her parliamentary appeal, which she quotes, she was told that the director of the museum "got lost" at the opening of the exhibition in Lithuania.
Androshchuk himself then explained that he has Swedish citizenship and has been living there for almost 25 years, so "I am not in Sweden on a business trip, but in Ukraine," he said.
In December, money for books will be paid to Ukrainians
Already in December, all Ukrainians who will turn 18 in 2024 will be able to receive 908 hryvnias ($22) from the state for the purchase of Ukrainian books - paper, electronic, as well as audio books.
To receive funds, they will need to submit an application through the Diia application by opening a virtual bank card "eKnyha".

Yermak declared his readiness for the elections
The head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak said that Ukraine is ready to hold elections immediately after the establishment of a just peace, but first a number of problems must be resolved.
Meanwhile, Reuters writes that Yermak met in Washington with representatives of the newly elected US President Donald Trump to establish cooperation and receive support in the war against Russia.
