Attack on Zaporizhzhia Oblast, new Ukrainian missile-drone: December 6 highlights

Strike on Zaporizhzhia Oblast and Kryvyi Rih

Ten people were killed in Zaporizhzhia Oblast as a result of a Russian strike on December 6. An infant is among more than 20 victims.

The Russian military also launched a missile attack on the city of Kryvyi Rih in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. Two people died there.

Zelenskyy unveiled a new Ukrainian missile-drone

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said that the first batch of a new Ukrainian-made missile-drone called Peklo ("Hell") was handed over to the Ukrainian military.

According to Interfax-Ukraine, the missile can reach a speed of up to 700 km/h and has a range of 700 km. The munition has already been used five times, including successful hits.

The head of the Sahaidachnyi Academy will be fired after complaints from cadets

The Ministry of Defense is preparing to dismiss the head of the Petro Sahaidachnyi National Academy of Ground Forces, Lieutenant General Pavlo Tkachuk.

Cadets of the National Academy of Ground Forces in Lviv talked about cases of harassment, humiliation and bullying; lack of necessary medicines in the medical center; low quality of food and other violations.

Scandal surrounding purchases for Dnipro HPP

The Financial Times claims that the state contract worth almost 900 million hryvnias ($21.7 million) for materials for the construction of the protective structure of the Dnipro HPP was won by a Turkish company, the owner of which is dubbed a money launderer for the Russian elites.

Ukrhydroenergo confirmed the conclusion of the contract with the Turkish company. But they claim that this purchase "does not concern the construction of any defense structure."

Official probe into the figure embroiled in a hromadske investigation

The SBI is conducting an official investigation into the first deputy director Oleksandr Udovychenko. Earlier, hromadske found out that he lives in an apartment in one of the most elite housing complexes in Kyiv, but there is no mention of this property in the official's declaration.

Instead, this apartment was purchased by a relative of Udovychenko’s partner, in October 2022 at a price of Soviet Khrushchev=era flat.

Two new MPs were sworn in to the Verkhovna Rada

New members of the Ukrainian parliament, Tamila Tasheva and Bohdan Lukashuk, took the oath of office in the Verkhovna Rada. The total number of parliamentarians has increased to 401.

Tasheva will take the place of Oleh Makarov, who died on October 29. Lukashuk became a lawmaker instead of Alyona Shkrum, who, according to the media, gave up her mandate to take the post of Deputy Minister of Communities and Territories Development under Oleksiy Kuleba.

Iran accused Ukraine of supporting the Syrian rebels
