Russian city of Oryol under massive drone attack: oil depot likely hit

Overnight, the Russian city of Oryol was hit by drones, regional governor Andrey Klychkov, reported. Authorities claim that fuel caught fire, while online users suggest that an oil depot was hit.

According to him, air defense shot down 11 drones. Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry says that only five UAVs were destroyed over Oryol Oblast.

Despite this, a fire broke out at an unnamed infrastructure facility. In addition, windows in several houses were allegedly damaged.

Klychkov later stated that the fire at the damaged facility had allegedly been contained, and emergency services were working to fully eliminate the consequences. There were allegedly no casualties in the city from the attack.

Meanwhile, the Russian Telegram channel Astra, citing local residents, writes that an oil depot has been attacked. Eyewitnesses claim that at least one fuel tank is on fire.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that the fire at the oil depot in Oryol was the result of the actions of the Special Operations Forces in cooperation with other units of the Defense Forces. The linear production control station "Steel Horse" was damaged.

It is reportedly one of the largest oil product terminals in the suburbs of Oryol. The "Steel Horse" itself is part of the Russian military-industrial complex, which ensures the supply of oil products to the Russian army.

Videos of the fire also appeared online.
