Record deliveries of UAVs and Russian losses: Army chief Syrskyi sums up 2024
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi held a meeting on the results of the army's activities for 2024 and determined priorities for the next year, he said on social media.
Syrskyi heard reports on the areas of conducted combat operations, the work of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and air defense, electronic warfare, unmanned systems, training and restoration of combat readiness, logistics, mobilization, and countering violations.
"This year was a difficult test of our strength. But, despite everything, we persevered and continue to fight," the commander-in-chief stated.
He said that since the beginning of 2024, the total losses of the Russian troops have already exceeded 421,000 killed and wounded. In total, the losses of the Russian Federation for the entire time amount to approximately 785,000 military personnel.
"That is, this year the Russians paid the highest price since the beginning of their invasion of Ukraine," Syrskyi noted.
In addition, he recalled the increase in the duration of basic training for mobilized personnel and the creation of the Unmanned Systems Forces in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Compared to last year, the volume of drone deliveries to the army has increased 19 times, the commander-in-chief added. The number of Russian targets hit and destroyed has increased 3.7 times.
The meeting also discussed existing problems and outlined ways to solve them.
Syrskyi identified priorities for the coming year, and also set "specific tasks" for command and control.
