Russian troops execute 6 Ukrainian prisoners. Commissioner reacts
A video of the execution of six Ukrainian prisoners of war by Russian soldiers is spreading online. Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets said he immediately reported the crime to the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross, according to his social media post.
The video was filmed by the Russians themselves. It ends at the moment when the seventh Ukrainian soldier lies on the ground, his fate unknown. Each of the Ukrainian prisoners was executed in turn.
At the same time, one of the Russian soldiers orders the Ukrainian military to "lie down and shut up," and the "cameraman" says: "One is mine," after which he himself shoots the prisoner.
Lubinets said he reported this crime to the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
"The lack of responsibility has turned a crime into a systemic one. We cannot turn a blind eye to this! Ukraine needs justice and accountability for those who commit crimes and do not adhere to any norms!" the commissioner stated.
Executions of captured Ukrainian fighters
