Russian troops strike Sumy: 28 people injured, including children

The Russians launched a missile strike on the center of Sumy on the afternoon of March 24. The attack injured 28 people, including four children, reported the head of the Sumy Oblast Military Administration Volodymyr Artiukh and the acting mayor Artem Kobzar.

The attack damaged a high-rise building and a school. According to Artiukh, all the children were in shelters at the time of the attack. They are now being evacuated.

Rescuers are working at the scene of the impact, extinguishing the fire.

"We are making rounds in high-rise buildings to provide assistance to the victims," Artiukh noted.

Situation in the region

According to the regional authorities, overnight on March 23 and the following morning, the Russian military shelled border areas and settlements in Sumy Oblast 11 times. 19 explosions were recorded.

The Khotyn, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, and Seredyna-Buda territorial communities were shelled. The agggressor struck Sumy Oblast with artillery, drones, and mortars. There were no casualties.
