SBU holds record for number of Russian soldiers captured at once
The Security Service of Ukraine conducted many unique special operations during the full-scale war. For example, its fighters set a record for the number of Russians captured at one time, the SBU press service told hromadske on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the creation of the Ukrainian special service.
This "record" was set during the fighting in Kursk Oblast. At the time, SBU fighters captured 100 Russian soldiers during a single assault.
In addition, during the full-scale war, the Security Service orchestrated two bombings of the Crimean Bridge — in October 2022 and in July 2023 — hit 11 Russian warships in the Black Sea using surface drones, and also carried out a series of “deep strikes” into the Russian territory on military airfields, weapons depots, oil depots, and factories that produce drones and UAVs.
"We will continue to fight for our state! By maintaining unity and resilience, Ukrainians are able to change the course of history for the future of our country," said its head, Vasyl Maliuk, on the occasion of SBU Day.
