Russia hits Kharkiv with missiles: one person killed, over 60 injured
On the morning of April 18, Russian forces launched missile strikes on Kharkiv. The attack killed one person and injured more than 60 others, as reported by the city mayor Ihor Terekhov and the head of the Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration Oleg Synegubov.
According to preliminary data, the aggressor struck with three Iskander-M ballistic missiles with cluster submunitions. Russia targeted a residential high-rise building.
As of 8:15 AM, the number of wounded has increased to 57, the State Emergency Service reported. A civilian enterprise was also damaged as a result of the attack, and a fire broke out there, which has already been contained.
As of 8:56 AM, there are already over 60 wounded in Kharkiv, Terekhov reported.
More than 20 apartment buildings and more than 30 private homes were damaged by the Russian strike. At least five children were also among the injured.
As Terekhov reported, there may still be people under the rubble.
