Ukraine neutralizes 72 of 108 Russian drones in overnight attack
Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 108 Shahed and other drones overnight into Wednesday, with air defenses downing 50 and strikes in Kharkiv and Dnipro killing one and injuring 47, the Ukrainian Air Force reported.
Russia launched the drones from Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Cape Chauda in occupied Crimea, targeting primarily Dnipro and Kharkiv.
Ukraine’s Defense Forces, including aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare systems, and mobile fire groups, repelled the assault, destroying 50 drones while 22 others were lost to radar.
Aftermath of the attack
On the evening of April 29, Russian drones struck four districts in Kharkiv, wounding 47 people and damaging apartment buildings, private homes, a medical facility, and other civilian infrastructure, the Air Force reported.
In Dnipro, the attack sparked several fires, damaged private homes, and killed one person, according to the statement.
