Air defense destroys 20 drones used by Russia to attack Ukraine
Ukrainian air defenses shot down 20 of 31 Russian drones launched against Ukraine overnight, though an attack damaged infrastructure in Uman, Cherkasy Oblast, the Air Force reported.
The Russian forces deployed the drones from Millerovo in Rostov Oblast, with Ukrainian air defenses neutralizing 20 targets, while six others were lost to radar.
Cherkasy Oblast Governor Ihor Taburets reported that Russian drones struck Uman, damaging a school building and shattering windows in a residential structure.
The Air Force noted no missile strikes or drone attacks occurred in Ukrainian airspace during the day, but Russian tactical aviation intensified overnight, using guided aerial bombs on Sumy Oblast.
