Russia’s mobilization pool at 25 million, only 3 million trained, foreign intelligence chief says
Russia’s military mobilization pool stands at 25 million people, with only 3 million trained personnel, and faces significant weapons production challenges, Ukraine’s Foreign Intelligence Service chief Oleh Ivashchenko told news agency Ukrinform in an interview.
The 25 million include individuals with military or related specialties and labor resources supporting Russia’s economy, out of a 145 million population.
Since the full-scale invasion, Russia has mobilized 1.3 million people and lost nearly 1 million killed or wounded, Ivashchenko stated.
“Today, 80% of military equipment is old, with reduced performance. It has been taken out of storage, repaired and sent to the front. Only 20% of Russian equipment is the latest systems,” he added, noting Russia’s arms production struggles.
Russia produces 3 million artillery shells annually, supplemented by 2.5–3 million from North Korea.
