Russia hit by 105 drones, Nevinnomyssk Azot plant struck again

Ten Russian regions were targeted by drone attacks overnight, according to Russia’s Defense Ministry and Russian Telegram channels.

The ministry reported that air defenses intercepted 105 drones, with over 20 downed in each of Belgorod, Bryansk, and Rostov oblasts. The remaining drones were intercepted over the Sea of Azov, Krasnodar and Stavropol Krai, and Kursk, Tambov, Voronezh, and Oryol oblasts.

Nevinnomyssk Mayor Mikhail Minenkov reported “37 strikes” in Stavropol Krai, claiming no casualties or significant damage.

According to the Astra outlet, the Nevinnomyssk Azot chemical plant, a major producer of nitrogen fertilizers and ammonia, was hit.

This marks the second attack on the plant in two months, following a June 14 strike that halted operations.

Reuters reported in 2024 that Nevinnomyssk Azot supplies nitric acid to the Sverdlov Plant in Nizhny Novgorod, used to produce octogen and hexogen for artillery shells.
