Coalition of the willing member states pledge long-range missiles for Ukraine – Starmer
Participants in the “coalition of the willing” have expressed their willingness to provide Ukraine with long-range missiles, according to a statement on the UK government’s website on Thursday.
The statement noted that UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer joined the “coalition of the willing” summit virtually on Thursday.
“The Prime Minister also welcomed announcements from Coalition of the Willing partners to supply long range missiles to Ukraine to further bolster the country’s supplies,” the statement read.
During his address, Starmer emphasized that Russian President Vladimir Putin cannot be trusted, as he continues to delay peace talks while simultaneously launching attacks on Ukraine. He specifically mentioned Russian strikes on the EU delegation building and the British Council office in Kyiv.
Starmer also underscored that the “coalition of the willing” has an “unbreakable pledge to Ukraine, with President Trump’s backing.” He added that it is now clear the group must “go even further to apply pressure on Putin to secure a cessation of hostilities.”
The summit, held in Paris on Thursday, focused on discussing security guarantees for Ukraine.
The previous day, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that preparatory work on these guarantees had been completed and now awaits political approval.
