Ukrainian air defenses down 420 Russian missiles and drones in overnight barrage

Ukrainian air defenses neutralized 420 of 497 Russian missiles and drones in a massive overnight assault, targeting energy and civilian infrastructure across the country, the Ukrainian Air Force reported.

Russian forces launched 32 missiles and 465 drones, including Shahed, Gerbera, and other types.

Ukrainian fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare teams, drone operators, and mobile fire groups engaged the attack, downing:

  • 405 of 465 drones (Shahed, Gerbera and other models);
  • 1 of 2 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles;
  • 4 of 14 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles;
  • 9 of 12 Iskander-K cruise missiles;
  • 1 of 4 Kh-59/69 guided air missiles.

Four enemy missiles failed to reach their targets. The military recorded direct hits by 13 missiles and 60 drones across 19 locations, with debris from downed targets falling at seven sites.

Russian troops bombarded Ukraine with missiles and drones, hitting Kyiv, Kremenchuk, Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk Oblast hardest.

Kyiv’s left bank lost power, and a Pecherskyi district residential building strike injured 12.

In Zaporizhzhia, a 7-year-old boy was killed, and gas infrastructure was damaged.
