Ukrainian troops clear Russian saboteurs from Dnipropetrovsk Oblast village
Ukrainian troops from the Skelya assault regiment cleared Russian saboteurs from Yehorivka village in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, raising the Ukrainian flag after encircling and eliminating dozens of enemy fighters, the Ukrainian Armed Forces Strategic Communications Directorate reported.
The regiment said a large group of Russian infantry had entered Yehorivka in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast earlier.
"The Skelya regiment assault groups set out to clear it. The Russians stayed hidden in houses until the end and did not reveal themselves, even when they saw our soldiers nearby," the fighters said.
The military released footage of the assault and noted that the enemy fighters were surrounded, hit with grenades, targeted with grenade launchers and "finished off at close range." Dozens of Russians were eliminated in the village and on its approaches.
Skelya repelled all attempts by Russian forces to break out of encirclement. There are now no occupiers in Yehorivka. The Ukrainian flag has been raised there.
As reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, over the past day, on the Oleksandrivka axis, the Russians attacked 14 times near Sosnivka, Stepove, Piddubne, Oleksandrohrad, Pavlivka, Novohryhorivka and toward Rybne.
