Russian barrage targets Ukraine with missiles and 80 Shahed drones overnight
Russian forces launched one ballistic missile, six anti-aircraft guided missiles, and 130 drones at Ukraine overnight into Tuesday, with air defenses downing 92 targets, including hits on energy infrastructure in Odesa Oblast, the Ukrainian Air Force reported.
The enemy fired one Iskander-M ballistic missile from Rostov Oblast, six S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles from Kursk Oblast, and 130 strike drones of the Shahed, Gerbera and other types from Kursk, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk and Cape Chauda in temporarily occupied Crimea. About 80 of these drones were Shaheds.
Preliminary data as of 9 a.m. shows air defenses shot down or suppressed 92 enemy drones in the north, south and east of the country.
At the same time, hits were recorded from missiles and 31 strike drones at 14 locations. The attack is ongoing, with several Russian drones remaining in the airspace.
Aftermath of the attack
Russian forces struck various districts in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. In particular, in the Mykolaivka community, a 65-year-old woman was killed in a missile and drone strike, and eight other people were injured, including two children. Three more people were hurt in the Nikopol district.
Meanwhile, in Odesa Oblast, Russians launched a massive strike on energy and port infrastructure, DTEK and regional governor Oleh Kiper reported.
The region endured two waves of massive drone attacks. A DTEK energy facility sustained significant damage.
