Russia launches 119 drones at Ukraine, 53 downed

Russian troops launched 119 drones at Ukraine overnight into Tuesday, with air defenses neutralizing 53 of them but recording hits at 18 sites that damaged energy and transport infrastructure in Odesa Oblast and knocked out heating in a Kharkiv district, the Air Force command reported.

Russia launched about 80 Shahed drones, as well as Gerberas and drones of other types from Kursk, Millerovo, Oryol, Bryansk and Hvardiyske in temporarily occupied Crimea.

The main strike direction was frontline areas in Donetsk, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk oblasts and Odesa Oblast.

The aerial assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups.

Preliminary data as of 9:30 a.m. shows air defenses shot down or suppressed 53 drones in the north, east and south of the country.

At the same time, hits from 59 strike drones were recorded at 18 locations, along with debris falls from downed ones at one site. Additionally, several Russian drones remain in the airspace.

Aftermath of the attack

Russian troops massively attacked Odesa Oblast with drones. Civilian energy and transport infrastructure facilities were damaged in the region, and one person was injured.

The region’s critical infrastructure is operating on generators.

In the Lozova district in Kharkiv Oblast, the aggressor damaged critical infrastructure, Mayor Sergiy Zelenskiy said. Emergency outages are in effect there, boiler houses are without power and heating supply has been cut.
