Russian strikes hit Dnipro, Kharkiv Oblast overnight: 1 killed, 11 wounded
Russian forces unleashed a barrage of missiles and strike drones on the Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv oblasts overnight into Tuesday, killing a 17-year-old girl and wounding at least 11 people, regional military administration heads Vladyslav Hayvanenko and Oleg Synegubov reported.
Dnipro came under attack from Shahed drones, igniting fires across the city and district, Hayvanenko said. Two people — a 59-year-old woman and a 67-year-old man — were hospitalized in moderate condition.
Damage affected a transport company and private business, an administrative building, auto repair shop, stores and kiosks, a public eatery, six apartment buildings, garages and more than 20 vehicles; three cars were destroyed.
The assault also struck the Dnipro branches of Suspilne and Ukrainian Radio, where a fire broke out, windows and doors were blown out, and ceilings and the roof were damaged.
Ukrainian Railways said the strikes caused about two-and-a-half-hour delays for passenger trains from Zaporizhzhia to Przemysl and Dnipro to Chelm.
The blast wave shattered windows in train cars and at the station; the region was partially de-energized, so railway workers deployed reserve locomotives.
In Kharkiv Oblast, Russian missiles hit the village of Berestyn, killing the teenager and injuring nine others, seven hospitalized with blast wounds.
