Air defenses neutralize 83 Russian drones attacking Ukraine, 27 UAVs strike targets
Overnight into Wednesday, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 111 strike drones of the Shahed, Gerbera and other types. Air defenses destroyed 83 targets, according to Ukraine's Air Force.
The enemy launched the drones from Kursk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk and Cape Chauda in temporarily occupied Crimea. More than 60 of the 111 drones were Shaheds.
The air attack was repelled by anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems subunits and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces.
As a result of combat operations, 83 drones were downed. The military recorded 27 drone impacts at 13 locations, as well as falls of downed targets and their debris at one location.
The Air Force said the hardest-hit areas were civilian infrastructure and private households in the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv and Odesa oblasts.
In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, the Russian attack killed two men aged 43 and 50. Three others were wounded and hospitalized, including an 18-year-old boy in moderate condition and a 65-year-old man and woman in serious condition.
